One would think this is simple. Simple design, simple origami. But what if this wasn’t so simple? These are actually lights on the ceiling at a restaurant. Not so simple…

I looked for another photo, but it was going to be a tough call between this one and that. So, I chose a photo of my brother and I. One of my very favourites.

A friend of mine took a photo of her and a Buddhist monk on one of her trips. I took this one and said: “I’ll see your monk, and I’ll raise you one.”

Gotta be the last. If I go last, then I can refute anything that the other person has said. I can then make my own argument and they can’t say anything more on the subject. I’m of course referring to a debate situation, not necessarily a “relationship argument” situation. Damn, now I’m sounding like Sheldon from “The Big Bang Theory”. Simple.

I would soak in everything I could possibly read. There always seems to be something else to do that is more important or more entertaining than reading a book. I would start reading more often.

I’ve been accused of being a perpetual student. I’d go back into school and get a few degrees, maybe history. I’d travel the world and not only see history being made, I might even make some of it personally.

I might even actually slow down a little and enjoy life more.

AGOChat Breakfast

At the Heart to Art Chat at the AGO, they invited a cross section of people to get their opinions. In attendance were members of the gallery (current or past), some that had visited before and some that had never been, such as myself. First thing I have to note is that they served a wonderful spread and everything they used to serve it was recyclable or bio-degradable. The other thing that was nice to note is that they didn’t run out of anything. At some events, you go to get something and they’re gone. Not here. It was nice to see that level of detail.

After the opening introductions and the reason we were there, we broke off into focus groups. There were about five during the day and I met some amazing people. Some of the sessions I attended involved how social media can play a role in improving the experience of the Gallery. They wanted to understand:

1. Why people come to the Gallery or why don’t they?
2. What keeps them away or what keeps them coming back?
3. What is missing? What do other Galleries do?

…and much more.

I can’t believe that it has taken me this long. Will report back when I’ve actually completed my journey. Happy birthday to me…
